Meet The Management Team
Experienced franchise team drives Gigi’s growth
The Gigi’s franchising leadership team is truly a team. We bring combined experiences in the food and franchising industries and relationships that have been formed in escalating Gigi’s Cupcakes’ status, and we have become the fastest-growing gourmet cupcake bakery franchise in the United States.
From the beginning of each location’s development process to every store’s grand opening and beyond, our leadership team, staff and franchise support partners work closely with Gigi’s franchise owners to ensure that each Gigi’s location has everything it needs to succeed.
Gigi Butler: Founder & Chief Brand Officer
Gigi Butler opened her first Gigi’s Cupcakes location just off of Music Row in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2008. Today, with 100 locations and counting, Gigi’s is the largest cupcake franchise in the world.
But when Gigi moved from California to Nashville in 1994, building a sweet empire was not part of her plan. The singer/songwriter moved to Nashville to pursue her dream of a career in the music industry. An entrepreneur at the age of 15, she opened Gigi’s Cleaning Company. She continued that business when she landed in Music City; she cleaned houses during the day and sang at honky tonks at night. After a decade of pursuing music, Gigi stepped back and focused on her financial future. She decided to take a chance on another passion – baking.
After being turned down by several banks, she leveraged personal credit cards to fund the business. She gambled everything she had to open her first location on February 21, 2008, and she had $33 left to her name. Fortunately, her sweet treats quickly became Nashville’s delicacy dessert of choice. Soon after, Gigi’s Franchising was born, and Gigi’s Cupcakes locations began popping up throughout the South. Now they are spreading across the country.
